Looking at purchasing a 99 a4, but one thing I noticed that's a lot different than my dads 99 vette is that its a lot harder to steer. I'm young and lift weights and although I didnt have to muscle it, it was noticeably more stiff. I've done some reading and am hoping a power steering flush/bleed would remedy the situation, but what are the odds of it being something more severe?

Reason: not a brake fluid flush! lol
a brake fluid flush wont fix the issue. Wheels/tires combo is a game changer when it comes to steering weight. heavy chrome wheels and tires could be the cause.
haha, yes I did. It was late last night when I posted.

Thats what I would think too, but these are the same wheels that I am using on the comparison vette I was driving.

Thanks.. that would kind of suck but I suppose they aren't too expensive.
Check for leaks or air in the system. You may try bleeding the steering pump and rack. I had to bleed mine after pulling the rack out to change the harmonic balancer.

If I brought it down to get it serviced and had them flush the power steering, would bleeding the pump and rack be part of that? Or just added $$ on my end? This is my first vette and am not too keen on working on them just yet.
