I have a 02 Z06 and the TCS/ABS light is on (code C1214), dealer says I need a new EBCM module. The problem is that after the battery was later disconnected the car quit driving. Really wierd. It starts up and runs great, but when you begin to let go of the clutch it just stalls. No matter how much revs you give it it just stalls. Can anyone help me out with simply getting it to drive?
I can not help you but I do not see a connection between the 1214 code and your engine
problem. I realize it is not your first priority but do a search on abs fixer either here
or on google. He can help you out reasonably on the 1214 code.
The Z06 has AH and ABS lights on, the car runs fine, but when you engage it in gear and begin to let go of the clutch ( rev all you want) it simply stalls, it seems to be as if the AH is wanting to stop wheel spin and stalls the engine for power ( when the wheels are not even spinning). The confusing part is that before the battery was replaced the lights were on and Code 1214 was also displayed, after a tech messed around with it it began to drive again but he suggested replacing the battery because it wasn't holding charge. After replacing the battery with the AH and ABS lights still on it doesn't want to let me drive, just idle. is there anything I can do to simply get it to drive (even with the AH and ABS lights still on).
car stalling sounds like a security issue or column lock issue--fuel cuts off.
That's interesting that you mention the column lock issue because the "service column lock" appears on the screen. There was a recall on the column lock and the previous owner had it replaced 5,000 miles ago. Is there anyway I can get around that security issue so that I could drive it?

Get A Column Lock Bypass from Corvettes of Houston. Do you have more than 1 key? If so, try it.

The old dealer replacement or reflash is temporary at best. You need to permanently disable the column lock by heither having a block-off plate installed by the dealership or by installing the bypass (what I did). Unfortunately, in order to install the bypass, your column lock actuator must be working. I'm afraid a tow to the dealership is in order.
Regarding the EBCM, you can remove it yourself using my picture-filled procedure.
If you got to www.ls1howto.com and look on the right hand side about half way down you'll see a link for installing the CLB. Best set of instructions so far.
Lot's of good advice you've received. No need to be further redundant.
