Seems like a good shop could just remove the vinyl and re-apply it with better adhesive. I'm sure there are adhesives that would not let go. I plan on looking into that myself.
Me think there may be a better way to get this fixed. This part of the door panel should never be molded in one piece. It is given that vinyl will shrink and stretch with temperature. Once it stretches, the adhesive gives and it cannot be fixed without reupholstering the entire piece, unless someone want to experience the same failure again. GM cluelessness at its finest.
