It's been bugging me how building the Euro halo is so easy except for getting the freaking Lens to be clear. Attempting to thermoform a lens around the original lens (even one that was trimmed for clearances) was nearly successful but just didn't fit.
The solution: I'm going to make my own fiberglass mold for the Clear lenses then will thermoform .080" duraplex into the lens needed. The seal will be a bead of either silicone or liquid weatherstripping.
Once a clear lens has been made, I will be able to offer an option for both export cars and those with tigershark bumpers.
stay tuned....this one's going to be good.
btw: If someone has a set of euro lights, I'd like to know what bulb bases are used in both the brake and turn signal bulbs.
Watching this thread for sure! I love my Red / clear euro's, but bought them right before the whole halo led thing started, so I've been split between wanting to get a set of halo's or keeping the euro-style.. a best-of-both-worlds solution would make me a happy camper!
I'll be watching this closely, very exciting project. I like the modern look of newer LED tail lights, but also love how the red/amber euro tails look on my black bumper.
Will you offer just clear, or the amber euros as well?
