Default Price evaluation

I'm thinking about selling my pretty much bone stock 98 Torch Red 6 spd with 27k miles on it with new Pilot run flats. The car was bought in Calif. about 2 years ago and never driven in the rain or snow, it's a true garage queen. I was thinking of asking 15k to 16k for it. If I do decide to sell it I want to sell it and not haggle on price. To high or to low?

I don't think your being logical. That car is worth clearly $18K to $22K . It's only got 27K miles on it? $16 is almost giving it away. Plus right now ISN'T the time to sell anything. The economy is in the gutter and If it were me, I'd wait till the realistic price comes back to the Corvette Marketplace. Just my $0.02

Actually you are probably the illogical one... The OP wants to sell it NO haggle. He's not going to sell it for $18-22K.

My 04 only has not even 30K (like 29.X) and I'll tell you I paid that much...

And I didn't haggle. I made an offer, and seller accepted it, simple as that.

I honestly don't know what the 98 with 27K would be.. just not $18-22K. Why do you want to sell it anyway? It looks nice.. just drive it more.

I would say 16k. I just paid 14500 in NY for a 70k mile targa. That was the lowest price that wasnt junk.

I think 16k is a good price unless you are in a hurry to sell, then 15k should move it quick.I say keep it!

I would like to think you could get that for it with out a problem. Honestly it is worth what the buyer will pay. Could be 22k or 12k depending on the buyer??? The market kinda sucks. No doubt it sounds like a nice car. Best of luck with the sale.

Like everyone else , I need the cash. I don't drive it much except for on the weekends for a joy ride and it stays in the garage from November to around mid March/April.

I would love to get 18k for it, but I think I would be setting on it for awhile asking that price, I hate to haggle, I'm thinking $15,500 to move it fast.

According to KBB.com it's worth 16,235, so maybe I could get 16k to 17k depending on the buyer. Maybe I'll start at 16,500 and not take any less than 16K.

Start at $17.5K and go from there. Don't give the car away, but if you want to sell it quick, be willing to accept a lower offer.

I don't mean this maliciously, so please don't take offense. You say the car is pretty much bone stock, but from what I can see, the wheels are not stock, the exhaust doesn't appear to be stock, what else have you changed? If you're going to sell it and want a hassle free sale, you will need to come clean about the mods.

I guess what I ment was the engine and drivetrain is stock. Aside from the catback and the crome Y2K's it's stock. I didn't change anything it's how it is when I bought it.

Oh really?

You seriously think if he posts a F/S ad tomorrow on auto trader for $20K, someone will buy it within a week?

Also, why are some of you telling him to "start from $X".

He DOESN'T want to drop price slowly. He obviously needs cash soon or something. He wants a QUICK NO HAGGLe sale.

I think the car is clean. If he prices it well, he will get a quick sale.

16K is a decent asking price I'd say. Just don't be one of those fools that asks 25k because he doesn't think his Corvette is worth a penny less.

Here, in the Mpls/St. Paul area, a very clean 40K white/red int. 1989 C4 coupe (auto) just sold for $11,500.00. Man, your C5 is 9 years newer!

One factor: How do your seats look? As everyone knows, Vette leather is cheap and tends to wrinkle and crack badly. This can be a turn-off to a potential buyer.

Whatever you decide to do, best of luck!

I think it'll move quickly at what your asking. By the way, what did you pay for those Pilot run flats if you don't mind my asking?? Thanks and good luck if you decide to sell.
