I'll take a guess that its the same place as on the '99 that I had. It attaches to the intake on the forward passenger side of the engine. Its got what looks like a heavy ground wire on it which is in fact a heat transmission method. The rubber hose/coupler from the valve to the intake can collapse with age too, so it needs to be looked at from time to time.
Hi There:
dgrant3830 is correct. When I changed mine on my 01 I used a spark plug boot puller as that puppy was really in there.Heres the a/c delco p/n cv948c.I changed mine at about 15k. Nothing wrong with the factory one, but having the new one handy made it easy to find the location of it & I figured I might as well change it, since I had it out. New one costs about $6.00 from the dealer. When you get the old one out blow(by mouth) in 1 end you get resistance ,the other end no resistance.ops. check ok.No replacement required.

O'fallon, il is where they just opened up a Gold s Gym and my (ex) roommate was a Manager there. Really close to the Missouri river/Missouri/St Louis. I lived in that area until about a yr ago.
Make sure you check the hose where it connects on the back of the drivers side valve cover. When I bought mine, the rubber elbow part was toast. It was soft as taffy and had collapsed.
