1 to 4 shift light
Stop shifting so early and it will never affect you AT ALL. I can't imagine why anyone would be shifting out of first gear at 1200 RPM's which is probably about 15 MPH..
DRIVE THE CAR LIKE IT SHOULD BE DRIVEN and you'll never have that thing act upon your driving

Takes seconds to install, back up on some car ramps, slide under unplug the solenoid connect the bypass module and put on the solenoid plug cover (included) and tie off the connected bypass module with supplied tie wrap.
Now see light and laugh at it.

FWIW: CAGS is sometimes dangerous as in tight congested traffic especially stopped at a light, when the light turns green and vehicles begin to start off even if you give ample room in front and start off if the CAGS system kicks in just as you are about the shift to second you are forced into a momentary pause while you either redirect to fourth or wait out the pause to go into second all the while you are slowing up the vehicles behind you are beginning to accelerate with no hint like a brake light that you are slowing up for a moment.

When i got the Z06 it was very annoying and messed with my driving habits frequently. Normally doing left and right hand turns from a stop.

accelerating to over 2000 and light goes out before i even start to shift out of first. So light
goes out with acceleration and then I put it into second. Is this what I should be doing then
light is only for a second, forgot to check my speed but rpm at just over 2000 cancels light.
Also, Should I try again to put in second with light on to see if prev owner put on device.
With it in 1 to 4 Shift mode (no by-pass module) Traffic permitting you want to accelerate through
the speed zone until the light goes out and shift to 2nd. If you are in a traffic situation that doesn't
allow you to accelerate in 1st through 20 mph (Vette accelerates much quicker than 85% of the cars
on the road but you probably already know that by now), then just shift to 4th and let the low-end
torque of the engine manage the power configuration. You shouldn't experience any lop as there is
sufficient torque.
From owner's manual:
NOTICE: Do not try to force the shift lever into SECOND (2)
or THIRD (3) when the 1 TO 4 SHIFT light comes
on. Do not try to re-engage FIRST (1) after
starting to shift into FOURTH (4). You will damage
your transmission. Shift only from FIRST (1) to
FOURTH (4) when the light comes on.
This light will come on when:
• The engine coolant temperature is higher than 169F (76C),
• you are going 15 to 19 mph (24 to 31 km/h) and
• you are at 21 percent throttle or less.
Might as well throw this in too:
Do not downshift into the gear shown below at a speed
greater than shown in the table:
FIRST (1) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50 mph (80 km/h)
SECOND (2) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 74 mph (119 km/h)
THIRD (3) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 101 mph (163 km/h)
FOURTH (4) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 130 mph (209 km/h)

I would think a tuner would do it for you between $25-50 bucks.... if not free.
