Thanks to zoh six
Long story short, I started the drive home from S.C to V.A. and after 175 miles, around 2.5-3 hours I hear a loud pinging from the engine.
I manage to limp into a local mechanic just off the highway in the middle of no where. The local mechanic diagnoses a valve train problem. The car is backfiring out of the varam air intake. At idle, the check engine light is solid, and at rpm it is flashing. Can anyone guess what had happened?

I call up ZOH SIX and explained the problem to him. He left work around 2-2:30 and drove out to take a look. Along the way he purchases a set of tools and other supplies from Loews on the way. He arrives, diagnosis the problem. Its now about 6pm and he calls up his wife who meets us halfway between their house and the mechanics. We get the parts from her (the one that broke was a mod, so he still had the originals) and drive back to the vette and complete the swap in under an hour of work,
but it is now 11-11:30pm and he has to drive home.I wanted to say thanks for taking the 8+ hours out of your day and bailing me out!

By the way, the Z06 is awesome.
