Default Jack stands for the C5

Getting anything the weight of a car up in the air is kinda scary. I'm trying to find some good jack stands to use with the C5. most jack stands have a deep channel in the middle of them which work great for fitting the axles if you're supporting an old muscle car, but the Vette is an entirely different animal.
the thought of that kind of weight on something like this under a jacking puck is

I've been shopping around and I found a style like this:

which looks much better for a car like the C5 it would go perfectly at the factory suggested lift points, with or without jacking pucks. they are expensive, but something like this would offer much better peace of mind. what do you think?

is there another brand or type of jack stand that works better for the C5?

I used some basic Declo jackstands over the lifting pucks. Never had a problem. Since then, I use the lifting pucks on a 2-arm lift. No problems there either. I don't see any concerns w/ just using the pucks. (I have the ones I created from hockey pucks, as opposed to the expensive ones.)

As far as I understand the places where you would place the pucks are not meant for jackstands?

I have yet to lift my C5 (I do need to change oil soon), but at Harbor Freight, they have rubber pads that are molded like the jack stand, so you can just put it on top and not have metal contact, I wonder if that helps? I bought a pair as when I did oil changes on my other cars last time it was kind of scratching the metals a bit.

The normal jackstands will work fine with the pucks. I had mine on those for a few days when I did headers. No problems. I would also grab a set of the larger SUV jackstands for the projects where you need the car higher in the air. They really come in handy.

No matter what you use being under the car is scary. I look over at the jackstands and pucks at least once every 10 mins.

Do you have anything inbetween the crossmember and the jack stands? I can't tell by the photo.
