Yes, You do have to drill 2 small holes.
Please see Install instructions below:
CORVETTE C-5 ALTERNATOR COVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place your new cover into position.
2. Align the two holes in the cover with the main alternator bracket ridge. (This is a small area and must be matched up properly.)
3. Mark holes in cover to ridge in bracket using a fine point marker or scribe.
4. Using a 9/64 drill bit, drill marked holes only about ¼” deep.
5. Place cover back over drilled areas and place screws (provided) through plastic washers then tighten. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER TIGHTEN.
Push chrome caps (provided) onto screws until they snap into place

We only offer it in T-304 polished stainless steel.
Stainless steel is guaranteed never to rust, chip or peel like chrome can.

Although I like the look and shape of it, I don't like the fact that it's SS so I took one down to a metal fab shop and had them make me one out of 18 Gauge steel and had it chromed. Looks so much better and I don't worry about scratches.
