Here is my 99 Pewter FRC with satin black powder coated C5 Z06 wheels on it. You can't beat the price on the used Z06 wheels. Plus, they are lighter than a lot of the other options out there - unless you're prepared to pay a LOT more for a set of wheels. Another nice feature of the Z06 wheel is that they are an inch wider and there are MANY more tire options for them vs the wagon wheels.
I have a 99 FRC as well, purchased it with the wagons painted black. I have to say, I am very disgusted by the look of the regular wagon wheels, but I love the way they look black. Plus, it can be much cheaper than some of the other routes. I have gotten many compliments on the way it looks - clean and no b/s. Does help to lower the car as well.

If you can find them - the best OEM wheels ever put on a C5 were the 2001 Alcoa Z06 wheels. They were light weight and forged. Everything after that were cast wheels and not as strong.
The aftermarket replica wheels - whether for a C5 or a C6 are heavy and made in China. If you run across a set of chrome Z06 wheels, look for the GM logo on the inside of the spoke - they would be OEM wheels that have been chromed in the aftermarket, as GM never offered chrome wheels. The same could be said for the chrome wagon wheels, OEM wheels that have been chromed.
A couple of vendors offer a chrome exchange program, with the caveat that you have to turn in a like kind of wheel. So - you could trade in your argent gray wagons for a set of chrome and do it pretty cheap.
The one good thing about the wagons, is that I have never seen in six years on the forum, any posts about a cracked spoke. The same cannot be said for the thin spokes....
If you want to talk more about your options - feel free to give me a call, I can help you out.
My contribution....The dreaded z06 replica wheels! Mine are 19's & 20's! They're soooooo heavy that my FRC could barely run 11.80's @ 119 mph on street tires!!! Tragedy!!
