I am not a big "mod" person but I do like the RPI Design rear C5 spoiler. Has anyone removed one after a long time? Do they come off without damage? Was the paint a different shade underneath? Could you get the adhesive off the car? I want one, but I want to be able to go back to original without any problems.

If you have the original paint on the car, the spoiler should come off without removing the paint also. Some colors do fade over time, so yes, there is a possibility that the area under the spoiler will be a different color than the surrounding area. The adhesive should come off by using something like 3M adhesive remover, WD-40, goo-gone, etc.
I have put mine on and taken it off three times now. I don't know about paint fade but removing what's left of the tape is a BITCH!!! Goo Gone, fuggetaboutit, 3M adhesive remover is the only thing that sort of worked, lost the skin off of both of my thumbs trying to rub the residue off. I wouldn't put WD40 on my paint, it just sound like a mess..
Do you get dirt/dust trapped in the slit between the two pieces? Does it trap water? And lastly, how was the paint match right out of the box?
I put one of these on back in June. I really took my time on fitting it. In fact, I moved the tape more toward the center of the spoiler to decrease the gap and make the tape invisible.
Color match, even on my AE (impossible to match according to most) was PERFECT. I highly recommend the part and the paint.
it doesnt trap dirt or water, I painted mine, as I was painting the whole car, I havent heard of any one disappointed in the paint match....I just like the look of it.. hope this helps..John
To all those who have installed this piece. How did you get it ti lay down flat around the sides? I'm having a hell of a time with it. I've followed the directions and all that. Either my car is bent or the spoiler is. Any tips would be appreciated.

The color match on mine (MSG) was right on..
I had the same issue and decided to take it to my local body shop and they did a great job, They used some super 3M tape and some kind of promoter and it cost me 50 bucks and was well worth it.
I saw one of these at a Corvette show this past weekend. I can't say I disliked it. It actually looked decent. I ended up looking at it for about 5 minutes and the only thing that bothering me was that it was stuck on with tape.

I had this same problem with my spoiler ( same shape, but from the fleabay site a few years ago ), I took it to a body shop and they used some adhesive called " Panel Bond" or something, told me the only way it's coming off now is from a serious rearend collision
