Default Racing Stripes

Hi

Getting bored with my 2002 Torch Red coupe/blk interior. My last Vetter was the same color only with a beige interior so l need a change.

I was thinking about a white single racing stripe approx 10-12". Being that l have both tops l would run the stripe over the solid top also.

The question is being that l would rather use a decal then paint it, would the decal hurt the paint in any way. I only am able to use the vette on the weekends and most of the time l use it maybe one weekend day. Car is kept covered in a garage.

I would rather pay somebody to put it on then do it myself and would put on the better decal if there is such a thing.

I live in New Jersey, Monmouth County but will travel.

Thanks

Alan

PS I have read that a window tint shop could do it but again l would rather have a shop that does this then be a guinea pig.

Lot of guys use the decals and have no complaints/issues. I had mine painted on, then clear coated..prefer that insted. I'm sure others will chime in about their experiences with the decals. Have heard no complaints though

You betcha....like them stripes.. Mine has stripes, but if were to add to a car, would use vinyl.......especially since yours is not in the sun.......Would search the forum as there are some really nice ones here....Maybe folks will post pics, but seems the older established users aren't posting as much... Waiting to see the results...

Hi

Vinyl stripes it is but l need a place in New Jersey to buy them and put them on. The buying is the easy part, putting them on is the tough part.

I can buy them on line and just need a person to do it.

And l do not want to hear that it's a piece of cake, l heard that before!

Thanks

Alan

That's where I got mine too. Mike is great to deal with. Check out the website for the different styles he has. You are sure to like one of them. I had a local shop do the install. Just go around to shops that do tint and any other automotive signage and ask if they can do it. Bring a print out of the instructions from vettestripes.com so they know what is needed. It should cost 100-250. I have heard it costing up to 350 for install. If they over charge it just look elsewhere.

Best of luck.

Hi

The price to install here in New Jersey is anybody's guess. I will wait another day in the hopes that somebody can steer me in the right direction

Thanks

Decal would work just fine and will not harm the paint.

My buddy just did it to his z06 and it came out great and easy to remove later with no marks. We found someone that does pinstriping for auto dealers and the like and they have the best patience to do the install. In your area there has to be pinstrippers etc. Good luck

Hi Alan,

Try Remsen Dodge, Route 35 in Keyport NJ...they can recommend a graphics stripe place that works out of their bldg I think. I read a news article about them, they looked very professional. This graphics company was one of the first companies to put on stripes on the new Challenger when it first came out. They can do any car. Sorry I can't remember their name but Remsen uses them a lot.

A decal would be just the ticket. If you ever tire of it, it comes right off.

Mikes Stripes are a premium quality stripe. He gives you great detailed
instructions too. You can do it yourself if you take your time and follow his instructions. I have done several cars using his stripes and have never had any problems. Soapy water, exacto knife, squeegee and patience is all you need. Give it a shot, you will be surprised how easy it is to do.
