Default New Cam and Heads

Ok...looking at some members set up, they usually change heads when they do a cam upgrade (usually a GX53). Depending on the motor i guess, the LS1 compared to the LS6, which the LS6 seems to be more reliable because of the piston and ring upgrade. Does any one recommend me to change the heads, i was thinking about going with the LG GX54 cam with with new valve springs of course. I don't think i have to change heads cause im just gonna have the normal bolt-ons, while looking at other corvette set ups a head change is good if you're going 500 hp+....i think im pretty safe....what do you think?

You might want to check the name of the cam again. LG's cams are G2, G5, G5X1, G5X2, G5X3, and G5XB. You dont have to do heads with a cam, just a lot of people do. It depends on what you goal is if you need to change the heads or not.

the G5X3 MAY but the g5X4 will have to fly cut the pistons IIRC

and the cam alone wont get you to 500 hp. need GREAT HEADS, not good heads,

there are several recipes to get to 500+ HP, Reliability? is another thing. and dig out the wallet, it wont be cheap
