Default Fuel Stabilzer during storage

Does anyone use a fuel stabilizer in their car during the winter storage months or even year round?

When I put the car away for winter slumber, I fill up the tank and use Sta-bil.

Seafoam for me. I herd it lasts the longest. If you don't want use anything, I would have the tank filled to the top to minimize air and condensation.

Yes, I use fuel stabilizer during winter storage.......probably not necessary, but I do use it.........as already said, have fuel tank topped off just before storage

For the last 10 years I've lived in MI. I've stored at least one car during the winter everyone of those years. I had one car that was stored for 3 years. I have lawn equipment (trimmer, edger, and other summer power equipment like a power wash). I have never used anything in the gas to stabilize it and I have never had a problem.

I wouldn't recommend going 3 years without a stabilizer but just for 6-8 months in the winter IMO its not necessary but if you choose to use it, its not going to hurt anything (except your wallet).

Yep. . .I put Sta-bil in, then top the tank off. Probably not necessary for 5 mos. storage, but would rather be safe. . .

Stabil every storage period! I also think it has helped with the gas gauge issue as once I started using it during storage I've not had any gauge malfuctions. Cheap insurance against stale gas.

I use STA-BIL every fill-up. The fuel in the tank will be 2 years old this Oct. I don't drive her much, but i don't want to sell her either. STA-BIL works great.

A recent article in Corvette Enthusiast notes the the additives in todays gas should keep it fresh for up to a year. That said, I still use Sta-bil in the garden equip. (old habit)....

I always used a bottle of Sta-Bil in my gas tank when I stored the car during the winter. It won't hurt a thing.

Use either Sta-bil or SeaFoam during winter storage. I put Stabil in my gas containers for the mowers / tiller /etc year round .... just in case when I wash them and a little water may get in the system, always been a habit.

seafoam here. top the tank off and make sure you get your car good and hot before you put it away...it will help keep moisture out.
