I just had mine painted last month it is mag red II after a run in with a Florida rock truck. The cost was just over 10K which included removal of the BSM's mirrors, headlight covers, bumpers, vent screens all around, repair of all the stone chips and reassembly. This also included the door jams and complete inside hood paint with the hood seals along the fenders and the HUD windshield.Material costs for the paint alone was around 2K. It sure looks good now. Good luck

So what would be the price difference? Labor or material? GP must be real high in that field
it's labor. if the op goes for the 2000-2500 range the rock chips probably won't be filled correctly and they car won't get a real cut n buff when finished. when you hear about 8000+ paint jobs it's mostly all labor. some show cars run over 100 hours, the really **** guys probably have some 200 hours in a job. body shops also love to jack up the price of paint over what the paint store will sell it to you for.
ppg does have another line called omni that's MUCH cheaper. i shot my DD with it last year and it sprays great. the only drawback is color. since it's cheaper some of the pigments aren't quite as nice. reds are always bright, not deep. silver is..well...silver, that's all in the clear with that color. i think the op would be okay with blue but my worry is door jam matching. if he used the high end ppg it can be exact color matched to areas that do not receive paint and easily blended. with omni or valspar..much harder. mentioning of valspar, i use to use that stuff on all my projects, not anymore ! they really hiked priced in 05-06 and haven't went back, nearly the same as ppg dbu/dbc
I disagree with most here... maybe cost is a regional thing??
I just had mine re-painted after some hail damage on the hood/roof and rather than "spot" fix it, I opted to do the whole thing. I even had them fit/prep/paint a Spectre-Werks tail on top of it. It was all done by a highly recommended shop, and is a very good quality paint job overall. Since I was staying with the same color, I opted to save a little and NOT paint the underhood or door jambs. It was blended and isn't noticeable at all that they weren't painted at the same time. To make it even better, when I got it back there were a couple of very slight imperfections (I am very picky) that were fixed free of charge, and since I have awesome luck I managed to blast a bush that fell off of a landscaping truck about 2 weeks after I got it back and took some decent chunks out of the nose... also fixed free of charge.
I will not post the actual dollar amount that I paid, but I will say that it is WAY less than people on here are saying that a high quality paint job costs.
Can you get it done for $2k? I doubt it. However, if you look around, you can get a high quality job done for a lot less than some on here make it sound.
