In my experience with later gen Corvettes and F-bodies, i've noticed a few diehard fans of a particular engine, just like with certain cars. So it got me thinking about what is actually the "best" LS# engine? My experience is mostly with the LS1 and from what I have seen they are very solid performers and can take upgrades and be known to last as long as they are properly maintained and tuned, duh. I've seen people comment on how LS7s can blow as well as LS3s. As stated I do not have much experience with those engines to add or take away from those commentary. Taking into account price, modibility, engine life, stock power, stock performance thresholds, materials etc etc what engine would you choose to say is the best overall LS engine.
Disclaimer: Not knocking any of them, just looking for opinions and data. Oh and not sure what actual section this fits in case a mod needs to relocate the thread.
The best LS motor to me is the LS1 in my '98! It runs flawlessly, has great mileage and more power than I'll ever need. I prefer long term reliability over a bunch of overpriced power adders anyday.
