auto VS M6 ??
anyone know why they made and make soooo many autos?[/QUOTE]
I think you hit the nail on the head. They market the cars to people whom they assume can buy. The target demographic was the middle aged male. I suppose the younger crowd would appreciate the manual cars more, but didnt have the money to purchase. Thats my take on it anyway.......

If you are a vet, thank you for your service!

Make sure you have HUD or knock off another grand.

Had my Z06 converted to auto and loving it. After 5 years of 6 speed "fun" while I missed gears, replaced the fluid, bled the lines, replaced clutches, new clutch adjustable master, added a 2 step, then finally snapped the mainshaft.
Now I run a 3200 stalled and built 4L65. It's faster, more fun than ever both street and strip. That's what works for me. I don't miss a single thing about banging the gears.

I talk to a lot of A4 owners that don't even know what gears they have and could care less. They like their cars.
You can easily firm up the shifts and adjust the shift points on the A4s.
If you like manuals the Vette M6 and M12s are great and very easy to drive with light clutch pressure.
One is NOT better then the other just different.
im looking to purchace very soon
i am looking at both, have not driven an auto car yet
obviously m6 has the fun factor and better mpg from the ratings point
auto,.... about the only plus i have now is that my wife can drive it, (she refuses to drive manual)

Of course, I wouldn't want you to be embarrassed to drive your vette, so it's a damn good thing you got a stick.

With near stock Z06 power, I could shift gears and stay WOT, with good results. Once I got over 600rwhp, this could no longer be done, the parts just wont allow it. So I lift throttle each shift and the nose drops, costing ET every shift. Here's and example of my car running 142mph down the track, with 6speed and auto.
6 speed goes 10.2@142. This run was launched with 2 step set at 5000rpm.
Same car with auto goes 9.7@142. This run was transbraked at 3000rpm. Nose goes up and stays there. This was done after my conversion, notice my right hand wandering during the run, like it wants to be doing something.

This video shows the 9.7 run from the outside. Just fun to watch.
I beat the other lane running a 9.5 sec due to holeshot.
