As several others have said, it boils down to your personal preference. I only drive mine about 1,000 miles a year and enjoy my 6-speed. If I was using it as a daily driver, I'd probably opt for the A4. The A4's have a lower gear ratio and generally make slightly less rwhp.
In the glovebox the 315 Gear ratio will have a code G92.
Like the rest have said, auto vs manual is a personal choice. All MN6 cars will have a 342 Gear ratio.
A4 cars are not slower persay, especially once you start modding. You can add a stall converter etcc. and have the tranny reprogrammed to perform better. Some just like rowing the gears of the MN6.
It just boils down to your preference, no one is better than the other. What you view as a con someone else might view as a pro.
Good luck
just got a pic of the sticker in the glove box,
is there a breakdown somwhere on what is what?
i dont see a G92
Grew up with sticks and then got my 00 Monte SS which is an automatic. When I began my hunt for a vette I only wanted an auto. As others have said it is a personal preference.
The 6-speed was a requirement for me when I was searching for mine. I believe I will continue to drive one until I am physically unable. I absolutely love it

If you want a true sports car, then there is only one choice. Manual is the only way to go. 50% of the fun in driving a car like this is going through the gears around twisty roads. You have to decide if you are a sports car guy or a luxury touring GT guy.
It actually took me a little longer to find the right M6 car since most vettes around here are automatics.
Stick, autos are boring. I find automatic Vettes embarrassing, but that's just me. Its like, you wanted the Corvette but didn't want to drive it...I'll never get it. To each his own. Good luck and have fun with whatever you choose.
On a side note: approx. 70% of all corvettes are automatics.
just be lucky that you found one that is a manual. i knew i could make anything fast so buying an a4 wasnt the problem but i wanted an m6. i NEEDED to have black on black. almost every single freakin car in every lot was and auto. they make so many for the "old man sports car".
anyone know why they made and make soooo many autos?
