keyless remote not working

we had a problem with the steering column lock last week. I had already had the recall work performed and the dealer disconnected the new column lock but we can get the new keyless remote we just purchased to work. Anyone know if the remote should work now with the steering column lock disconnected? Thanks

Do you know how to program the new FOB to the car? There are a few steps to program it but its very easy.
