Default fog light ?????'s

i have an 02 vert not z06...i was wandering if i was to put a haltech air intake on vehicle would it be beneficial to either put on the fog light shroud that has holes cut in them or to take the fog light shroud completely out...i wsa planning on installing the z06 screens to keep out unwanted objects but if the fog light shroud is gone or holes are in them will water get up in there and ruin the engine...

also on my 12 disc cd changer how do you clean it to keep cds from skipping (the cds r good when played thru another device)

any help would be great and do you think it is wise to go with the z06 screens for the fog lights with the shroud out or the 1 with the holes in it...will it work to ensure more cold air is entering the intake kinda like the vararam (had a vararam and the quality was poor sent it back)

IMO the best way to get cold air to your halltech doesn't involve the fog light openings.

Here's what i did: Cold air + ram air effect.

If you do this, I highly suggest a radiator screen. This will keep road crap out of both your intake and radiator.

Oh, and about the CD player, the OEM CD changers get grumpy even if there's a slight scratch on the CD. There's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Cant speak to the intake thing, but regarding the CD changer, you may not want to hear this :o but they do die pretty easily. Its a ten year old unit.

You can get another one pretty cheap but you will probably spend less and be a lot happier with an ipod instead of the changer.

Audio section search will return a lot of examples.

Good luck.

You might want to try a lens cleaner for the CD player. It's a cd with small brushes on the bottom which you wet with alcohol. It's worth a try, as this is much cheaper than a replacement.

I wrote a procedure on how to clean the laser on the head unit CD player. I used all the gimics trying to clean the laser, but they all failed until I did this.

On my web page

I know your asking how to clean your CD changer, but if you just take it apart like I did to my head unit, its not that hard really.
