And good for you for staying with an American product.
When I bought my vette (in 2000) it was the ONLY American car I would consider. But Ford has come a long way, in my opinion (and according to the "experts") their midsize sedans are now as reliable as the competing Japanese products. And Ford was the only 1 of the big 3 that did not need a bailout.
See Ya!! Just curious,,how OLD do you have to be for your "taste to change"??Was over 50 when I bought my firs vette,,C3,,and 60 when I added the FRC,,no plans of getting rid of them for a LOOONG time!! Unless something drastic happens,,I'll probably have one till I die!! If I get too old ,,might have to get an automatic!! Enjoy your new ride,,bet your going to miss the vet before long!!

As you (and all the others state), yes - I am sure I will miss my vette. It was a great ride!
How OLD for "taste to change"? No particular age - tastes can change any time. Actually if I had a 3 car garage I would have kept the vette AND bought the new car. But right now I need a sedan, and could not see keeping the vette outside as I live 2 blocks from the ocean in a very corrosive envionment. So the 2 car garage will house my wife's car, and my new car - and the vette had to go.
To all of you who responded to this tread and wished me well - THANKS Hopefully I'll see you in the future in the C6 or C7 or C8 forum!
