Goodbye
After 9 years and 105,000 miles I decided to drive a comfortable sedan instead of a sports car for awhile, so I sold my vette and ordered a 2010 Mercury Milan Premiere V6. Fully loaded with every option except AWD. Nav, rear camera, traffic blind spot warning, Sync (voice activated nav, music, bluetooth), etc. A lot of car for the money.
I have thoroughly enjoyed participating on the forum, and am grateful for the wealth of information that has been provided. The first (and probably most important) piece of information I gleaned from this forum was about the CLB (column lock bypass) which I immediately installed, and am sure that it saved me from needless aggravation.
If the economy ever turns, and I can unload some investments, I will probably get another vette. Most likely a C6 coupe, manual, with F55 suspension (the Z51 suspension on my C5 was wonderful for handling, but too bone jarring for my next vette).
Good luck to all of you with your vettes

The ride in my C5 Z51 with run-flats was comfortable on good pavement, but still harsh on subpar roads. But don't get me wrong - overall the vette was a GREAT sports car. Never regretted owning it for a minute. Just getting older and my tastes have changed.
I do feel better knowing you are not in a C6 or a FerrariLamborghiniAstonMartinPorsche, at least for now.
Hopefully I'll see you on the C6 forum someday.
