I am a bit confused. I thought the head units were the same whether there is a CD changer or not? My Chevy truck has the AUX button ,but nothing connected to the back. I bought a harness that plugs in where the CD changer would go and it works great.
The first link says a CD changer will no longer be functional. It would seem that someone should be able to come up with a shared cable that could have the ipod or any portable plugged in as well as the changer. Wonder why they can't?

If you have 1000s of song on you IPOD why would you even want a CD changer.

I used a PIE X3 for this exact reason. I didn't like leaving my iPod in the car and therefor wanted to keep my changer as well. Now I have a small button I put in my ashtray that switches between CD & iPOD for AUX input. I also have connections for 2 more AUX input devices.

I installed mine over 2 1/2 years ago and haven't used the cd player since. With over 100 hrs. of music in my ipod there's no need to lug around 30 cd's.

I own the music on my disks, but only am licensed to the songs on my MP3 which means I have to renew the license and if I don't, I would need to listen to the changer as an alternative until I do the renewal.

You own the music on your discs, so down load them to your ipod and keep the discs home. It's just foolish to carry them around when there's another option.

I haven't used a cd in the house or the car in a couple of years.

Obviously i am clueless. I don't know of any sites with free downlods and I am not sure they would have what would be looking for. I primarily would be looking for every song made from 1960 - 1980

only a couple months though. I removed the CD changer and discs and with the weight savings picked up as much performance as the hood performance seal.
