i have seen these clear euro healdight lenses around, but i have never actually seen them on the car. they are supposed to replace the stock lenses and mount on the stock housing. from what i hear they are made of glass? are they heavy? are the stock lenses glass? where can i get these? anyone have some pics of them on their car?

The T-84 Euro lenses are glass but not clear. They use a specialy designed reflector and lens to produce the E-code "sloped" pattern (see pics below) The reflectors are signficantly heavier than the OEM housings but much stronger and easier to keep clean. My only real complaint about them is that they mount using the same screws as te OEM headlights and if over tightened, the mounts will crack and the light will be useless.
E-code sloped cut off (1 headlight only using 120w PIAA bulb. Car at ~15 ft camera at 10ft from wall)
Be prepared to replace your nylon headlamp motor gears; the extra weight causes them to fail earlier. One of mine failed completely shortly after installing, and I could see signs of failure on the "good" one as well. I like the lights though, much improvement over stock but it won't break the bank... just your gears

I saw an earlier thread that showed metal aftermarket replacement gears. They were gold plated and very high quality compared to the OEM nylon gears.
any chance of polishing the inside of the stock lenses to make them clear, or are they glass as well, or would they not turn out so clear? it seems like this product should be out there.
I've had T85s fitted for 4 years with no problem. The T85s are faceted to dip left for UK. As the guys said the lenses are made of glass and much better quality than the stock lenses.
The beam pattern is much better shaped and it focuses at a good range but towards the side of the road. The stock lenses produced a diffuse flat beam.
My drivers headlight motor gear failed after a year and I had a new one fitted under warranty. I've had a brass gear set ready to go in since then but so far I don't need it. Mind you I have twilight sentinel inhibited so my lights are not popping up every five minutes.
The Euros come as units so its not possible to just fit the glass front. You need to install the whole lens. Its also a single filament H4 headlight bulb for both high and low beam.

the OEM lenses are plastic. I don't think they'd be very easy to polish though
TheRadioFlyer, the lighting guru you are, maybe you should come out with this product. . your GPII headlights IMO are the best looking headlights you could put on a vette. i just cant afford them.
Great suggestion! Just better plastic lenses for us cheapies!

A clear lens would not do a whole lot for better out put and would most likely be more expensive to proeduce than the T-84 lights. Trust me when i say it's just not worth it.
....If you still don't believe me, you can remove your OEM lens from the reflector housing by removing the 4 metal clips that hold the pieces together, then prying the lens away from the reflector with a flathead screwdriver. I did this with the first projector retrofit I attempted on my car and the low and high beam pattern were still nothing to brag about.
It is true that we need cheap alternatives. The C5 definitely has market for cheaper lights. Just like Z06 fog screens, there is the cheap kind and the expensive kind, both sell well.
