Throwing a couple of codes
I posted this on the Tech Forum but haven't gotten any hits. Hoping someone over here may have a clue as to whether this is an issue I need to deal with.
Just got back from the NCM this morning and decided to check the codes just to see what I may have gotten. The car ran great so no complants there. Longest Trip I had taken in the car in quite a while; 700 miles round trip.
When checking the codes I got two history codes;
P1431
P1571
Again, both showed up as history codes and not knowing what those are or what they do I would appreciate any guidance, etc.
When I cleared the codes then restarted, I got the P1571 again as a History code. It would seem that whatever it is is being resolved by the PCM right away.
Any clues; anything to be concerned about, etc.?
The car is a 97 stock except for a Blackwing and a Powerbond 25% underdrive pulley; GHL exhaust.

P1431 Fuel Level Sensor 2 Circuit Performance,
Sounds like the gas gauge sensor. Have you has any issues with it?
P1571 ASR Desired Torque.

10-PCM P1571:
ASR Desired Torque Circuit
PCM supplies 5.0v on Desired Torque Circuit to EBTCM/TCM.
EBTCM toggles 5.0v signal to GND to produce duty cycle signal proportional to ENG output torque reduction requestred by EBTCM (wheel slip detected).
PCM reduces spark advance and can disable fuel injectors.
If PCM does NOT receive the Desired Torque signal the DTC sets.
Conditons for Running DTC
TC has NOT failed
ENG speed > 500rpm for 20 sec.
Conditons for Setting DTC
Desired Torque signal NOT received by PCM for 3 sec.
Action Taken
PCM stores DTC into memory with RUN and FAIL.
MIL will NOT illuminate.
PCM records operating conditions at time of DIA FAIL and stores in Failure Records.
Conditons for Clearing DTC
PCM turns MIL oFF after 3 consecutive RUN trips that do not fail.
A last test fail (current DTC) clears when diagnostic runs and does NOT fail.
History DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if this or any other emissions diagnostic does NOT fail.
Use a Scan Tool to clear MIL/DTC.
Diagnostics
Remove any debris from PCM\TAC module CON surfaces. Inspect module CON gaskets for correct instllation (prevent water/contaminant intrusion).
Intermittents caused by:
Mis-routed harness
Rubbed through wiring insulation
Broken wire inside insullation

I too think the Fuel Sensor is what the 1431 code is. Every once in a while the fuel guage does it's little trick. Mostly after a fill-up when it takes its time moving back to full. Once there it is fine. I put some Techron in it so it should help that; if not, I will put some Sea Foam in it. It hasn't shown up again since I cleared the codes; just the other code stays there. I read somewhere that early 97s show that code and you can't get rid of them. Don't know if that is true or what the heck it is. The code guide says it is "ASR Desired Torque" but I have no clue there. The car runs fine and performed great on the trip; no issues except the slow fuel guage.
