I was thinking about serlling my 98 coupe for a newer vette, its only got 30k on the clock and I'm the second owner.
One guy wants the car BAD but he does'nt have a garage and I don't want to watch my baby turn into a piece of sh#^ sitting outside. So I told him I won't sell it if you let it sit outside.
My friends say if he pays the price let him do whatever he wants but that would drive me nuts, he lives in the town next to me.
What do you guys and ladies think?
If you aren't worried about or needing the money then don't sell it to someone without a garage since you took so good care of it and that'll bother you.

I agree with you 100%. When I die, whoever gets my cars, well then they can do whatever. But while I'm still on this side of the ground, I won't see my cars abused.
Unless you hand built the car from scratch (like a resto mod or a rat rod or something akin), I don't personally believe its your place to refuse a sale.
I've bought cars in the past with the intention of gutting and beating them, and had owners cautious to sell their work to me. As a buyer, it's extremely annoying to have someone tell you "No, I don't like how you'll treat your future property".
Some people buy a nice steak, let it get freezer burn, and toss it. Some butchers and cattle raisers I know would have a few words for a move like that, but ultimately, it's not their place.
Count your money, let the guy get his own smile, and be on your way.
If you dont want to sell it then dont but its just a car. It will be ok outside. Its not going to melt in the rain or anything. Just because someone doesnt have a garage doesnt mean they dont have a right to own a sports car. Now if you built the car from the ground up I could see you being more cautious but since there are thousands of C5's out there, dont worry about it. Personally if I sold my car I would hate to see it get trashed or damaged but it wouldnt be my car to worry about anymore.
Good on you! It's your car and you decide who you will sell it to. I say stick with your guns and kudos for standing up for what you think is right for the car

Just my opinion.
There is nothing wrong with leaving the car outside. My car was an outside car for a while. Lots of people leave their cars outside. It will be fine
If your so worried, supply a car cover with it when it sells.
Just because it's going to be outside doesn't mean he won't care for it.
My wifes 98convt. with 15,000 miles sits outside. It gets covered, washed and waxed.
It's not like it's a collector car.

If you sell it, no reason to worry what happens to it. What will you do if you sell it to someone with a garage and then it gets wrecked? Once the money is in your pocket, no need to worry about what happens to the car IMO.

Take the money and run. Who give a s**t what the buyer does to it. It's not like it's your kid.
If you want the money sell it.
What the new owner does with the car you won't know about anyway. If the car becomes his, is hard to dictate once he owns it....
If you like your car that much and don't need the cash don't sell it. We all have a choice....
For me even as much as I love my vette, if I was offered the right money I would sell it and go buy another one...
I sold a 1996 Taurus SHO V8 with 10k miles on it (pristine condition) to a Marine and I gave him a killer deal on price because he was in the service and he really wanted the car. He peeled out of my driveway with three of his friends as soon as the money changed hands and the car never made it back to his house before he trashed it! I have regretted that same ever since - I had no idea he would abuse it like that.
That said, you have to assume that whoever buys the car will never treat it like you. You are not selling the car out of love (or you would keep it if possible), but rather a need for money.
