[Z06] Ticking sound

Ticking sound

Yet another newbie here with a dumb question. Picked up a 2002 QS Z06 last week and have put on 200 miles. I've noticed a very soft rapid ticking sound when accelerating slowly in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. The sound starts at around 2200rpm then either goes away or gets drowned out by the roar when speeds increase. Sound goes away when car is put in neutral/coast. Car runs just fine. Haven't tried this is 5th gear because of small town local speed limits. Not yet anyway... Am I just being a Paranoid Petey? Is this sound 'normal'?

It is normal. We've all got it. Most think it's the injectors.

I've had 4 new vettes. Everyone had noises from either the engine,clutch,rear end,or exhaust system. They were all driven reasonably hard for 30-40,000 miles without any driveline failure. Forget the little noises and enjoy the car....
