Very nice job getting all the crud off the engine. Sure looks good now.

Mine needs cleaning again. Before I put a hose to it, I would have to adjust my medications accordingly.
.
(I am liable to have a fit, seeing all that water, spill all over my engine)

Any worries that the Simple Green will eat away at seals? Simple green is great at cleaning up grease/oil. I would worry it would cause leaks on seals it gets into.

What is CDW-2? Is it the same stuff as Turtle Wax CD2?

At my old job (Corvette only dealership from 53 ~ 09) they've washed HUNDREDS of C5s.... with a steam pressure washer, with zero issues due to washing.
All those ding dongs (countless veterans here I'm sorry to say) on multiple threads with comments about not washing an LS1 make me laugh.
The LT1 is a topic only because of the optispark, but there are ways around that.... the LS1 is fair game.

I want to wash mine but I was informed that it could cause problems with the belts squeaking. I spent $800 having all my belts and pulleys replaced and refuse to go through that again anytime soon. Anyone have any issues with that?

No belt issues with mine. Not a single issue with anything. I don't go full force with the water and always start the car to help the drying process.

Squeaks
I washed mine the other day. I have a '99 hardtop with all the original
pulleys, idlers and belts. I didn't think about it at the time but I know I got the pulleys and belts wetter than I needed to. It squeaked some after I started it the next day but that went away with a couple of throttle blips. I wouldn't worry about it as you don't need to use high pressure anyway and using just a hose you can easily avoid the parts you don't want to soak. I use a leaf blower to dry everything off. I try to avoid getting the battery area (computer underneath) and alternator wet but that's about it. I don't think there are any problems associated with washing the engine if you use a little common sense.
