So long as it's in good condition now, It could go on for a very long time if you take care of it !

Stock LS1 engines can last a long time. There are memeber on here with over 200k miles on theirs.

It would be great if you could get a little history on the Vette. I've got 130k on my daily driver and it's never been in need of a sequencial tune because it's always been kept up. I put 25k a years on her and am looking forward to at least 3 more years on this engine.

I put 274K miles on my '99's engine when I had to pull the heads to replace the lifters. I also replaced the rockers, pushrods, valve springs, stem seals, knock sensors and had the heads processed for valve seats just to make sure. The valves were not leaking. Just a lot of preventative maintenance if you will. I gave the car away to my son at 317K miles and last I asked him, it was at 330K and still going strong.
I heard that someone else in here has 450K on theirs but I don't know what they might have had to do to their engine, if anything.

As far as I remember from that post he didn't have do any work to the engine, but had to do some transmission work. Found the post for you!!http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...milestone.html

Yeah, I certainly had transmission troubles. Lost the synchros, then in my "not knowing any better" I put in Mobil1 transfluid into my BorgWarner tranny. Big mistake and it cost me dearly. Oh, also wore out the trans main shaft too. I finally gave up and put in a new Tremec.

The LS1 is used in the Aussie Caprice V8 and they use them as taxi's!

I have a Caprice SS as a DD with 230,000 miles and still going strong but with regular Mobil 1 oil changes.

And it gets driven HARD every day, round trip of 150 miles at an average or 130 MPH.
