How bad....
... Would it be to drive my car a few miles without any cat back or turn downs??
I am having the exhaust modded and need to have it removed and replaced at a later time.

Once I drove my 600 rwhp Twin Turbo Firehawk to the exhaust shop for about ten miles.
Open downpipes right after the twins with a choppy cam. That car sounded wicked!
Probably the meanest streetcar I've ever heard running up to redline like that. The blow off valve hitting at 6,800 rpm was intoxicating.

I just don't want to over-roast anything with the exhaust exiting right in front of the tranny/axle....

It's been done before. I used to work at a Corvette only dealership (that does retail repair work).
Some guy failed at installing an aftermarket exhaust and brought it in to the shop. He had unbolted the flange and cut the over-axle pipe with a saw to get the oem parts off. Then he didn't know that automatics need to have the rear subframe unbolted and lowered an inch to help with instal clearance.
Nothing was hurt except his ego.

You'll be good it won't hurt anything. Just be prepared to get a lot of looks. I drove my camaro open headers for like an hour and half on the highway to an exhaust shop. Wow was it noisy but my baby ears can take it.
