I have a 2001 C-5 and would like to change the exhaust for something a little, scratch that, a lot louder. But...I still want to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. Is that possible? I want to change the air filter to a K & N. Any suggestions on which system might be best?

You'll get a bunch of suggestions, and all will be good, it's a personal preference thing when it comes down to your C5 growling. I like the LT headers with ZO6 TI Catback .
Corsa Tourings work well for me,They growl pretty good when you put your foot in it,but for just cruising around in town, they're actually pretty quiet.(not stock quiet, but not too loud either)
And no drone on the freeway .
What I can say with confidence is that the Corsa Indy system is very loud when you floor it (but not like straight pipes for sure) and cruises with a bit of a rumble that can be heard outside the car but is barely noticeable inside. I test drove a number of C5's and I hated any system which "droned." I was OK with stock so the Indys seem to be a great compromise -- kinda like what you seem to be looking at.

My buddy has Corsa and long tubes on his WS6 and it sounds nice. Calm enough to have a convo inside. But when you get on it it growls
