I'd give it a 9... A good wax job makes it very difficult to look at without when the sun hits it just right. Else there are some scatches and fades on the lower sections of the body that I'd like to fix..
9.5 or so, I'm pretty **** about it (PC every winter to remove any swirls, lots of Zaino)... Only one minor nick in the left rear quarter that was there when I bought it from the dealer... That should be getting fixed soon
mines an easy 9.9 - 10 no chips marks scratches or even swirls, just beautiful and smooth only small flaw is one of my tail light covers was not seated down perfect and there is a small rub mark on the inside lip of the tail light recession about an 1/8 of an inch long if that
I think mine is probably a 9.9 only because I have a few rock chips that the gm MY touchup paint didnt match worth a damn. but 100 or so hours of wetsanding and polishing took care of the crappy orange peel that gm sold me.
From a condition standpoint it is a 10 plus. From a GM quality standpoint, I've seen better. Robots just can't get the technique down. Thankfully, oranges are a favorite fruit. It amazes me that we buy cars daily with paint that in the 50s and 60's would have left a car sitting on the lot forever.
100%
For being the flagship of GM these cars factory paint sucks.
My car used to be a 10 for the 1st 3yrs I owned it.
Then it got repainted by Elco Chevrolet and it looks like total crap, I don't even bother washing it as much as I used to cause it just pisses me off every time I do.
It goes in next week to Elite Customs for a new rear spoiler, I'm going to see if they can do anything with the mess that Elco gave me.
Realistically, this baby is a 6 or 7 with 80K DD miles and the original paint job.
The beauty of Sebring Silver is that is long as you Zaino it now and then it looks really great at a quick glance The scratches/wear/road rash just do not stand out!
I had a black C4 prior to this and I could not stand how bad it looked given I just don't have the energy to fanatically maintain the finish
Most of my black paint could qualify as a 9 as there are no swirl marks in it and no major scratches either. But the front end and hood are definitely closer to about a 7 though, since the car is a daily driver (winter included) with almost 108,000 miles on it now. So up close those sections don't look as good, but from a few feet away they look near perfect.
9.0 IMHO a 10 is absolutely perfect without so much as a swirl in the paint, and hot a single blemish on the windshield. Tough to manage if the car is driven at all.
Perhaps the best investment I've made is a GM Bra. The front and the first four or five inches of the hood are perfect thanks to that bra. I do have a few places where a pebble hit the hood above the bra. The mirrors and wheel openings, and that area where the body flares out in front of the rear wheels are perfect thanks to Cleartastic.
