How do you rate the paint on your car. From a scale of 1-10 How would you rate it.
I just waxed mine, the hood needs to be done over, not chipped but the paint dosen't look great up close. I would say mine is an 8. And looks great from 3 feet away.
Well, my silver '01 was almost always a 9. My LeMans blue z16 however is a 7. It's in good condition, but I haven't found anything that just makes it really "pop" like I want it. Granted, I'm really very picky about things like that.
The paint on my front fascia is not so good. It has so many pits in it from 46,000 miles worth of road stuff hitting it that I think every now and then of having it resprayed but then it would just get nasty again.
The rest of the cars paint is pretty darned good. I just have a few scratches here and there but otherwise, the rest of the car is an 8-9. From the doors back is a 10 as it was just resprayed.
I've only had my car since Feb 20th of this year but it is a daily driver and I'll be driving it all winter up here in MA so long as the roads are dry, my paint up front will only get worse, oh well.
My MSG is pretty good. I would give it an 8 or 9, however I want to try Zaino and see if I can make it pop some more.
I need to get a pro to repaint the hood as it still has some cut marks in the clearcoat where the dealership porter must have used a razor knife to cut off the protectant shipping film. I'm waiting until I decide to install either a Carvaggio rear spoiler or a Specter Werks rear fascia.
I'm very lucky previous owner took great care of it for a 97 I would say at least a 9 maybe 9.5. I get ask all the time from non vette people is it new and they fall out when I tell them how old it is.
From a condition standpoint it is a 10 plus. From a GM quality standpoint, I've seen better. Robots just can't get the technique down. Thankfully, oranges are a favorite fruit. It amazes me that we buy cars daily with paint that in the 50s and 60's would have left a car sitting on the lot forever.
