Default What an awesome car!

So after 3 weeks of owning the 2004 Z06 (had 15,600 miles on it when I purchased it), and after some new fire stone firehawks tires, I took it out this morning for a quick little rip while the wife was still asleep.

oh also changed the air filter yesterday (original).

Car is bone stock.

Went into "Competitive Mode"...went down to the ware house area in Edgewood.

Opened 'er up in 1st and 2nd hard....damn!!!

I've never owned a serious car like this before, always my high performance rush's were with crotch rockets....not anymore.

I have never laid down rubber in 1st, shifted to second and continued to lay rubber! What a friggen awesome feeling in a car...especially that gets 23 mpg combined when I am commuting.

I am so happy I went with the Z06 and not the coupe or convertible.

These are awesome cars, never owned a GM product in my 40 years on this earth let alone a Z06. These cars have got to be the deal of the century right now.
I was debating on going with a 05 C6 coupe, but decided for the rawness of the Z06. Life is good today..

firehawk wide ovals are a hell of a tire for the price. I cut 1.80s with mine.

Congrats on the buy! Sounds like you are enjoying it!

Firestones are okay tires as long as it's warm out. Use caution driving on these tires when its below 50 degrees out. I switched to Kumho Ecsta MX tires and they are much better. Just be careful and have fun, I picked up my '04 in January and love everyday that i drive it

Hold down the traction control button for I believe 5 seconds.
You'll see it come up on the DIC.
You'll still have active handling, but traction control will be off.

Went again for another little rip....
I don't know how long these tires are going to last if I keep this up.

Drove mine today after about 2 weeks without driving it. I forgot how much fun it is. And even though there are faster cars out now, it still holds it own with most of em. Have fun with your new ride.

My '01 is loved [almost] as much as my newborn son..

I enjoy I everytime I turn the key; in fact, I enjoy just sitting in it in the garage before heading up to bed.

It's one of the best (if not THE best) driving machines you can enjoy without worries -at any price... being only 25k makes the C5Zo6 that much more remarkable.

I thought I was the only one who does things like that before going to bed! I guess there are some motor head freaks out there just like me. Right on!

Yep I am amazed at the performance for the price. Especially when I was looking at cars for a few thousand less but 1/2 the performance.
Its a perfect time to pick up a Z06 right now if you can swing it.

There is always something faster, at least for the general mass of people, but for the price, I don't think there's anything out there that can touch it is there? Its just a wonderful all around performance machine, and grin generator...

Yes this a FUN car for sure! Hadn't driven mine in almost 2 weeks, and I got it out today for a while. I do love this car.

There may be faster cars out there, but not by much if it is something you can buy at a dealer, and certainly not even remotely close to what a Vette will cost you. Modded cars will be faster but for a price. These cars don't even require that much work to be a lot faster either. I've got a few things done and it will spin the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd even with the traction control on. What fun! I like pulling next to some expensive sports car on the road and not intimidating them, just cruising alongside knowing I can blow them off when they try to show me up. They're the ones that look stupid wondering why I won't race them, which probably bugs them more. My license plate tells them everything, THINK2X.
