Default Door lock question, help!!

I took my 03 z06 to Chevy because both doors will not lock using the buttons on the door panel or key FOB. However, both doors unlock. So the service writer called me back and told me that whatever needed to be replaced(I forgot) will cost $1600!! I picked up the car as fast as I dropped it off! They charged me a few bucks labor for tearing the door apart to diagnose the problem. Here's the strange part, after I picked up the car, the drivers door LOCKED and unlocked with the key FOB and from the buttons inside the car. This lasted for a few days, then stopped locking. Passenger side still only unlocked. Why did the drivers side door lock for a few days after the tech put the door back together??

Maybe he used a small squirt of WD-40 on the lock tabs (which makes mine work fine when they balk). Try it.

Did you run the codes??? Do you have any LDCM or RDCM codes??? If so open the drivers door. You'll see a tube that runs from the door to the door pillar. pull it back and fish out the wire bundles. Unplug the plugs and spray some contact cleaner on the plugs. blow out the excess with some keyboard air and plug them back and give it a try. Both doors controls run through the left door. Bill

Your problem is almost certainly a sticky relay in the door lock module.

Read this post as its the best one out there on that issue
