I noticed this morning that the LED screen on the AC unit has gone out but the amber light on the buttons are lit. I also noticed that the light on the stereo unit is on as normal.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Can this be fixed? Do I have to get a new AC unit? How much do they cost?
Search. There is a fix if you can solder. If not, then look over on the big auction site. There is a guy there that fixes them, with lifetime warranty. Lots of people have used his service.

Thanks I'll do a better search now that I know its a soldering issue.
Btw, do you know where I could get new buttons? The button skins are starting to separate from the heat and make a pop sound when I press them. I might as well replace them if I'm going to open up the ac controller unit.

I've come across this issue on several occasions. I came across a reliable fix for it while cleaning customers units. Soak the buttons in hot water then gently press the overlays back on starting in the middle of the button and rolling your finger to the edges... I hope that made sense.
