Well sombitch. I JUST ordered a new set of digital ballast 55w HID's from an eBay vendor about two hours ago. One of my sides went out on me and I wanted replacements. SHAT. I'd enjoy the sharper cutoff. Did you say $130 includes the new shields AND a complete 55w HID kit? If so, put me down for the set. I've got to pull my headlamps anyway. I'll throw the other 55w kit I just bought into the high beams. God help the UFO's if they decide to mess with me on a lonely desert road. I'll burn out their eye sockets.

Wait a second. How much for just the shroud kit without the HID's? I'm amassing quite a collection of HID bulbs and kits around here!!!

You know JMc, I almost called you out for this as I was wondering where you had been.

I'll be pretty happy with both a 4300K/55W upgrade AND the better cutoff for longer throw down the road and a better pattern.

It is going to be something.

I also considered going with the "stealth cannon's" but already have too much into the "LC 1.0/2.0"

If you got your 55W ballast from RadioFlyer, would it not have been warrantied for a year?, but you might have gotten that aftermarket, is that correct?

Yeah, I checked the stealth light cannon thread. Not for me. I'm not willing to spend that much dough on another set of lights, but moreover, if I want a C6, I'll buy a C6. I like he pop ups and wish to keep 'em.

BTW, you are going to turn cartwheels over the output of 55w at 4300k. It is going to be BRIGHT. I sort of hope that the improved cutoff shields are available without the HID kit, being as how I JUST bought one earlier today before I saw this thread.

I was hoping for more like $15 shipped.

No Ben, the failed module (lamp or ballast, not sure which yet) was a a cheapie eBay kit from Taiwan. Got what I paid for

Oh, something is definitely wrong. Are your highs projectors or standard reflector type? My highs are the latter. I have 35w 4300k in there at present and they are VERY bright. I originally had the 55w 5000k set in my high modules and they were SO CRAZY bright that they actually gave me night blindness. So I put the 55w 5000k's in my low beam projectors and they have been superb and the 4300k 35w in the high beams and they have been great, too. Don't use them often, though. The set of 55w 4300k I just ordered from eBay are sold in the U.S. and have a lifetime warranty on all components. They are also digital ballasts which are suppose to be able to kick on with less of a current draw and have some other advantages also, I think.

Now GEORGE! Is $40 really the best you can do on the improved cutoff shields?

Based on your posts a while back i decided to try them. I have the reflector Hi's and these are the bulbs that i put in http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=101&parent=60
I was expecting to light up the backroads like a UFO and i don't, so i don't know what is going on. could they not be getting enough juice from the car? They are plugged right into the factory Hi beam connections.

I can do $30 shipped for you. If these were hand cut lenses i could go less, but I got them waterjet cut for repeated precision so it cost me a little more.

You might try swapping the high beam fuses for 15 amp fuses. Might also want to check the alignment of the bulb in the housing. Your HID high beams should provide an un-goldly amount of light....even the 35w versions.

If I have HID bulbs and ballasts in my lows, can I put them into my high beams?, so I don't waste them?

I have the LC 1.0

Yes you can, however your "flash to pass" high beam feature might damage the HIDs. If you never flash your high beams you shouldn't have a problem.

GP Final update:

1. Csdunaway
2. Canyon Lake Corvette
3. QKSLVR Z
4. Ben C5
5. EG99hardtop (Hi-Low 55w HID)
6. TheDVS1
7. Frodo84
8. 06CobaltSS (lots of goodies)

Unless I've previously recieved or discussed payment methods, I will be sending all of you a PM with details on how to pay.
