Attendance was definitely down from years past. No aerial shots as the helicopter wasn't at the show this year. All in all, probably not worth the money imo but definitely a fun event.

wow! they better do something as word will spread around fast! They think that attendance was poor at this event? Wait till next year if they plan on doing the same type of setup. I warned the PR person just like many on here did and apparently she didn't listen too well. I dunno you got to wonder what people are thinking in some of the PR roles. I know the economic times are rough and all....All the more reason to plan properly and get peoples attention early. People shouldn't wait till last minute to adjust a function such as this one, add a price tag and leave the name "customer appreciation" on the event to be. The proof is in the numbers...it just don't fly. That's just my opinion....going to be interesting to see how they make up for it...either they are going to be smart about it and plan better next year...OR your going to see a lot of products suddenly get a "small price jump" to counter the negative numbers.
Nice pics,,thanks for posting!! LOTS of green showing in areas that used to be packed with cars way past the flag pole in the past!! Glad you got your pics before the rain,,most of that area had anywhere from 1/4" to 1-1/4" of water!!Had fun,,wasn't worth the money though, IMO!! Less cars, less vendors,,and while the show was pretty good,it was nowhere as good as the free REO show a few years ago!!
Absolutely right. I was totally digusted this year. I've been going for the last 5 years. I don't think I'll be back next year.
atteneance was down. they had a couple of screw-ups and some rude parkers. for 25$ you ought to be able to park closer, there were a lot of spaces left forthe higher cost "guests" that were not used. the club parking was not really well marked and FAR away from anything.
Didnt you know that the closer parking was for the goofballs that paid more to get in. You know the ones that paid $100 to have dinner with Mike Yeager. FORGET THAT!
You know, I don't recall having to wait in line for ANYTHING tis year.
The only line was the dinner we paid $8 a head for,,and even THAT one moved pretty quick. Neimerg's Family Restaurant catered that(MAM's one smart move)!! The food was good(We ALWAYS stop at their restaurant on the way into Effingham),,BUT it would of cost you about $5 or $6 if you'd eaten the same meal AT the restaurant!! I'm waiting to hear what "SPIN" they put on the attendance numbers!! Also waiting to hear what their plans are for next year!!
Complaining about paying $25 for a 3-day car show, when they've spent THOUSANDS on mods? $25 won't even buy a decal!!! I spent almost that much on LUNCH!
I thoroughly enjoyed the event. I also like the staggered parking so you could swing your doors wide for easy exit and entry.....
We got out of there right before the BIG rains started! (We got hit on I-70.....)

First,,we don't ALL spend thousands on mods,,SOME of us ARE on a budget!Second While true it is a 3 day event, for all practical purposes MOST only go on Saturday,,in essence a 1 day event.Unless it there is a special reason(I come from a working class background)I wouldn't spend $25 on lunch for the two of us. Bottom line we spent $25 for something that was a lesser event than the ones that were free! There certainly was room for staggered parking since there was a LOT more room left over from all the cars that weren't there!I too enjoyed myself,,and stayed through the storm, enjoyed dinner and the music. Just get a little annoyed PAYING to attend a CUSTOMER APPRECIATION event!! Kind of like a doctor PAYING to perform a rectal exam!!
Welcome to Midwest weather, my wife and I were excited about owning a Vette this year and attending the show. We knew form our experience of owning a VW and attending those shows that Mike and his company would do whatever to put on a good show no matter the weather. We still enjoyed our first Funfest and plan to go back next year no matter the entry fee, where else could you see so many nice cars and top rated entertainment. Attaboy Mike and family. Thanks, Dave.

Just wondering, since you say you won't spend $25 for the two of you to eat and you get more out of events that are free did you spend ANYTHING at MidAmerica throughout the year to deserve the CUSTOMER APPRECIATION?? You probably threw the two shirts that came in the goody bag away also right?? Maybe one of the reasons they had to charge this year because there were so many FREELOADERS from the past that came just to get the FREE SHIRTS, GOODIE BAGS and FREE CONCERT. Rumor had it several went to people that DIDN'T EVEN OWN a corvette in the past!!
Did they have problems this year? You bet, undoubtedly, on top of the economy it probably couldn't have come at a worst time. But I would assume they know that and by next year will have a plan to work it out. You don't stay in business for 35 years by not caring about your customers.
I would still like to attend a FunFest if they are able to continue putting them on. It would be about a 5-hour drive from here. Who knows, I might be disappointed, but I would still like to try just once. Then again, I'd like to attend any of the larger Corvette events across the country, but scheduling conflicts and a tight income always prevent it.
