I'm planning on heading to my first HPDE later this month and wanted to flush out the stock fluid and put in some ATE SuperBlue or Motul 600. So how much do I need to buy? Thanks
I would buy a few bottles just to keep around but you will be able to flush your brakes with one bottle of Motul. You don't however have to use that stuff for the clutch res (its too expensive), I've found a GOOD dot4 fluid like Castrol LMA is great for that.
I used a little less than a quart when I flushed mine earlier this year, if it makes any difference, I have goodridge stainless braided brake lines. I expected to do a few hpde courses, so I just bought a case of 10 ATE Super Blue with free shipping (i forget where I found it)
It'll end up being cheaper in the long run. I'm going to use it in the clutch too as well
We're having a special on AP Racing brake fluid right now. If you buy three bottles, you get a free bleeder bottle. AP Super 600 is comparable to Motul RBF600, and AP PRF is more similar to Castrol SRF. Both of these AP fluids are DOT approved, and extremely popular in professional racing. They are perfect for street/HPDE use.
