Zip tie mod "so easy a caveman can do it"

1.open hood
2.remove original air cleaner top portion by unsnapping two hold downs
3.use long plastic zip ties to secure the air filter to the bottom portion of the remaining air filter assembly
4.close hood (hope exposed air filter does not ingest water or fail to seal allowing unfiltered air into motor)

With a little more effort you can turn the bottom portion of the "air filter assembly upside down, then cut the bottom fan shroud open, and have cold air induction.. This is called the "flip tie mod" and is obviously much more effective than the zip tie mod.. Downfall is you have to be real careful in a rain storm or you might suck up water. Yikes! Again.. so easy a caveman can do it.

Here is the flip tie mod write up. There is a pdf file download with instructions and pictures. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...m-diy-yes.html . Zip ties can be purchased at any hardware store or most automotive stores. I did both of these mods when I had my 99 c5, however that car was not a daily driver and did not ever get driven in the rain.. Something to consider.. Remember... you are creating a wet-vac with over 400hp
