My '99 FRC has a well enjoyed 277,365 miles on it. Granted it's required some repairs to keep it going, but with 467 rwhp I haven't exactly been real easy on it. Just took it on a 1,200 mile trip to Detroit last weekend and knocked down 27 mpg.
Bought my 2000 Last march 26,2012 with 68900 miles on it, put her away Oct 8th with 71491 miles , would of added more miles if i had waited till Nov to put her away but my son was born late sept and was in the hospital till mid Oct so i really didnt drive it much .
But spring is around the corner and as soon as shes out of storage im going to drive her nonstop for atleast an hour.lol Plus the wife cant wait to hear me shut up about wanting to drive it.lol
I just bought a 01 convertible about 2-3 months ago. It had 100K on it when I looked at it the first time, this was not normally mileage I would pick to purchase a vehicle. But after checking into it's history, I couldn't justify not buying it. It was a 1 owner, at 65K it received a complete new LS1 motor. The Michelins on it only had a couple thousand miles, plus the dealership put a brand new soft top on it. Not to mention the previous owner had a maintenance log as long as your left arm. It doesn't show any of its 13 years of life. Basically picked up a convertible in the middle of the Midwest winter for wholesale and handling, not that that makes any never mind.
Though I am a recent new member, I'm been coming here to this forum to figure out what the if's and if not's are for about a year. You pointed me towards the 2001 or newer frame of mind. My input was either green or white.
With all that said. I bought this to drive. plain and simple. I too, am issued a company vehicle, but I'm also away from home 6-8 months at a time. This is what I drive on my own time. Currently I have a 5 hour commute to go home. One way. This car has done it 3 times already. It has 2 more trips to go. My next project is only 2-1/2 hours away from home. This car will make that a weekly trip, weather permitting. I've read where they are built to exceed 250,000 miles with proper care and maintenance. I don't mind putting those miles on it. It will be a joy.
I don't care to have people in my garage, so if they want to see this car they'll have catch me on the street.

got my 01 the end of dec 2012 had 46,500 and i am at 49,500 right now and i am not worried about it. i bought it to drive it and it drives great. i would drive it everyday if i could. i didn't buy it to look at it in the driveway. i think if you buy a vette and it's older or was bought as a collectors item then you should be carefull how many miles you put on it but if it's newer you should drive in to the sunset.
I'm having issues up loading pics. as soon as peruse the Archives on how to achieve this goal, I will get some posted. I don't have that many because I haven't had a real good chance to take any as it has been winter here almost endlessly ever since I bought it.
Bought a 2002 zo6 from a forum member in October of 2009 with 36000 miles on it. It now has 44000 miles on it. Also have a 2000 vert I purchased in February of last year with 36000 miles on it. It now has 38000 miles on it. And my last purchase was a 2006 zo6 in October of 2012. It had 44000 miles on it.It now has 44650 miles.Did not drive it much because I stored it one month later.
