Dip Stick

Anybody else got a problem with their oil dip stick on their C-5? I've got a 2001 Vert and the dip stick is all bent and I don't think I'm getting a proper reading. Where's the best place to get a new one?

maybe you could bend it back? lol... the dipstick tube should keep it straight enough anyways. its a PITA on all c5's to get a good reading on the dipstick though so dont think something is wrong with yours. let the car sit for a few hours and then check the oil. you will get a much better reading this way.

Honestly, How do you bend a dipstick? Are you sure it's bent? Do you have a picture of it? The C5 dipstick has twists and bends from the factory and thay are a pain in the *** to read.

mine is all twisted like a spiral.. im not sure wat its suppose to look like but i dont feel thats right.. wouldnt that shorten it?

I found mine this way when I bought the car (used), Ive asked and been told thats the way it comes (spiral) so you may not need to worry about it.

ok good to know cause I bought mine used as well and u never know wat previous owners are capable of lol.. I already saw a few things I didn't like.

I just bought the car so, I assume the last owner bent it. Ya it's bent. Kind of looks like a piece of rope that was left out in the rain. I'll call the local dealer for one. Thanks guys!
