[Z06] Pricing questions
There are so many options out there in terms of price/mileage/condition/etc...
I've looked at '01's and '02-'04's. The '01's cost less, obviously but the book values have such a wide range that I don't know what to make of it. NADA seems the highest while KBB seems the lowest. Do you take an average of the two?
How do you factor in things such as:
new clutch
new tires
replaced motor with GM LS6
bolt on mods
I say bolt on because I am not into a vehicle that has been opened up, bolt on mods are easily reversible.
How about a higher price for Speedway White, which was only offered for the one year?

If money is not an object I would look for an 03-04 Z06 unless you want white, then you have to purchase an 01. Expect to pay 10-20% more for a Speedway white car compared to a like kind 01 Z06.
01Z's are your best performance value for the dollar. I have owned 2 and never had a problem with oil usage or losing a match to an 02+ car due to the perceived lesser performance from the 15hp difference.
Ignore KBB and NADA pricing. Like others have said use this forum, craigslist, ebay etc to see current pricing trends.
Mods usually add no value (unless the new owner finds value in your mods) to a car and can significantly cut down on your possible pool of buyers.
New tires, clutch, etc can all be positives or negatives. New motor/clutch might mean the car was driven really hard. New tires = not having to spend @$1k any time soon for new rubber.
Seller is asking $24k and I'm not sure what to offer.
Book values vary a lot and probably don't represent what they're selling for privately very accurately.

I keep reading that it's a buyers market but some of the prices I've seen, especially on AutoTrader, are absolutely ridiculous.
You will find a bunch of low ballers who will say it is worth much less, but if it is a nice car (I think you are looking at the car in TX on this board) I would buy it and enjoy the hell out of it. What else can you buy for low $20k's that will bring that big of a smile to your face?
