I have the A4 in a 2001 coupe. It seems fine. I've never driven a C6 with the six speed auto. I can't really compare. What you intend to use the car for may help you decide. If you are a track guy, I'd get a Manual 6....if I was just a "cruising" guy with a little spirited driving now and then...the A4 or A6 would be fine. It's a fast car no matter what the tranny is in it.

Do some research, even the C6 guys avoid the 2005 model. This is not because of the trans, they seem to have many electrical issues.

I have had a 07 automatic (6 spd) and now a 97 automatic (4 spd). My personal preferance is for the 4 spd. My 07 with my driving style (weekends, shows, just enjoyment) didn't have the instant response I feel in the 97 (probably a matter of degrees though). It would hunt thru the gears occasionaly as well (but my driving style may have been partly to blame). Drive both I say and try to drive them the way you anticipate the vette being used, if you drive aggressivly, you may like the 6spd better than I did, if you drive relaxed as my style normally was, you may lean towards the 4spd..............but either way, I assure you, you will like them!

I would not buy a 2005 C6. It was a transition year and a lot of the C5 innards were carried over into that model year. The real C6 started in 2006.

Might want to look into one of the paddle shift C6s. Can drive it like an automatic or like a manual. Shifter is on the steering wheel.

I don't think I would buy a C6 05 with a A4.
