I found a used Shaner S2 in the sale section for $100 including all electronics... couldn't pass on a deal like that! Nice port work done.
Otherwise, "if" I ever decided on a ported unit I'd do the job myself. I most certainly wouldn't buy a whole new aftermarket unit. The cost/hp benefit doesn't make sense.
If I had a FAST intake (90+mm) I'd buy a used factory C6 90mm unit...
I'll cut to the chase. If you want to have slightly better throttle response and aren't after peak horsepower, a Shaner port-job is the way to go. No reason to spend the aditional money for aftermarket stuff unless you're going whole-hog busy on mods, and it'll buy you another 3-or so ponies.

So Shaner is still doing work? I had one of his units of my ws6 and really liked it. Doesnt he even have s3's now?
