Default valve spring compressor

does anyone know where i can purchase a valve spring compressor tool for a decent price with quick shipping? my car is at a shop and the guy doesnt have the right tool to get the last 2 springs out that sit under the dash area..So now im in a crunch because my car has been sitting there for nearly a week.

sorry located in CT car is an 2002 z06 swapping out stock valve springs for comp 918s

just went out and looked under my hood.. doesnt look like they should be hard to get to (or different than the other springs)..

my guy has that tool, hes having issues with the 2 springs that are slightly tucked under the dash. It seemed easy to me when i glanced at the valve covers, but i only looked and real quick.

that was my thought exactly..it looks like they are right there, but apparently they are harder to get that tool around..I dont know its getting me annoyed.

That tool that Blu by U will not fit in area that you mentioned. Did you get my P.M.? I gave you 2 different vendors, that both have a great tool for changing out these springs, to include the problem area that your machanic is having.

Show this picture to your mechanic and tell him to make one but if he leaves the pushrod in it's hole he needs to drill another hole in the tool to clear that.

Or just click on the buy it now and see if the seller has a faster shipping option before paying. Just be aware this tool needs you to take the pushrod out of the way.

it says LS1 vehicles, i guess it works on the LS6 also? are these motors basically mirrior image with a difference in air flow and camshaft specs?

Do not use the type pictured above - they can nick the spring and cause a stress riser.

Use the Crane spring compressor - either the one in the Thunderracing link above or this one: http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...d=526&pcid=171

You want to compress the spring from the retainer so you don't touch the actual spring.

great..that makes sense..to bad he did all of the springs but two with the compressor pictured up top...
