battery dying prob...possibly headlight?

battery dying prob...possibly headlight?
ok this is the car...03 50th 18600 miles 6sp.....i have the grinding headlight problem but have been lazy about chaning the dang thing since it still comes up and goes down but it just grinds.. well just the past week... my cars batt has died 3 times. when ever i try to turn it on the headlight does its grinding. idk why... im not messing with the lights at all when im trying to turn it on. i think the motor is still trying to run and its draining it. when i do boost it off it drives fine no probs at all... i can get home and usually go outside the next morning and have a lil hesitation but it will turn on. i le it sit for my days off and dead as a door nail!!! any suggestions? alt batt or possibly just headlight? thanks

Buy the best battery sold - Diehard Platnium - look it up !
Then trouble shoot your headlight / electrical - imo
These cars eat weak batteries - the platnium will hold a charge about 2 months, the GM original new / replacement is maybe good for about 3 weeks...

This might sound idiotic, but I thought I heard once that if you park the car in reverse it doesn't drain the battery as much..? I know there is a good reason to park it in reverse, but I'm not sure if that's it.
