Default Chin spoilers sagging?

On my 99 the sections on the left and the right are sagging in the middle. There is only a bolt on each end I have been thinking of making a metal support to keep them from sagging. Anyone else have this happen? Anyone else have a better solutition?

Not sure. Any pics? Is this the stock OEM piece or an aftermarket spoiler.

This is the first I've heard of this happening in the front. I have heard of the rear end droop caused by the exhaust heat.

If your talking about the black corner pieces under the nose, they make a aftermarket plastic piece that reinforces the sagging area. It gets bolted to the stock bolts and puts pressure against the flange to keep it pressed up against the bottom of the car. They sag over time because when entering steep driveways they scrap and get pushed down over time. You can also replace these as well if they are looking worn out. I believe Mid America, Zip, Eklers all sell these. I'll post a link if I can find them.

It looks like part 607-033 see link below:

There is even a technical page with a picture next to the product

When you consider how much abuse this spoiler takes, it's nice to know a complete replacement with reinforcements only costs $120!

I made two custom side air dams supports, but their only held up by two 3 mm screws and they don't have enought pressure to hold up the whole plastic piece. It's plastic holding up plastic. There's really not much you can do. I bought the ones offered by MA and CC but their even worse that the alum. ones I made.

I have the set from mid america and for thin plastic they seem to work just fine. I have no issues with them at all.

Default Spoiler corners.

I have not gotten into mine yet. I want to see what others have done. Thanks to all who have responded. If I remember right on my C4 they had a stamped (plated) part to back up the spoiler. The metal was thin but the way it was formed at the edges which were rolled away from the spoiler it added ridgity to the metal support. I will most likely make some suppports this winter as part of my winter time projects. Thanks again to all who have responded!

I made some supports from an old aluminum mud flap I had, took off the corner spoiler and traced the mounting point, cut it out slightly smaller then the tracing ,drilled the holes for bolts ,painted it black and installed them.It works well.

I made some supports from some old sheet metal I had laying around, painted it black.
After 2 years it's starting to rust, but WTH it was free. So the next set I'll make will be from aluminum.
