Default Bilsteins

How much do they improve ride quality after lowering? I plan on lowered my Z as far as I can on stock bolts, and possibly getting longer bolts if I don't think it's low enough after that. Just wanted to get opinions on whether or not the bilsteins are neccesary. $330.00 seems like it would probably be worth it. TIA

I have the Bilstein Sport Shocks and it's really night and day. I had stock shocks when I cut the front bushings and it was real rough. This time when I changed to Bilstein I removed the front bolts and it's outstanding. Even my girl, who doesn't notice anything even said it was a big change

Bilstein sport shocks are slightly shorter than the stock Z06 shocks and work better on lowered cars...

I knew that, I was just wondering if the difference in ride quality was really worth it.

Thanks anyway. The cheapest I could find on eBay was $313/set but almost everyone else is in the $330 range.

So you really noticed the difference between stock and the Bilsteins?

Default rough ride

Is the rougher ride with the car lowered because of the stock shocks bottoming? I have an 04 Z Are the Bilsteins shorter than my shocks?
How much shorter?
Thanks,
Rockit Eddie

No problem. Yeah, I couldn't find cheaper either for ya. $313 still pretty good price.

Yeah, it definately gives it a much better ride. They are stiffer shocks so you do feel the bumps but not as rough, it's more of a firm/solid ride. I was really shocked with the outcome. Great upgrade!!

Im sure thats part of it but Im not definately sure about that 1. My guess is the stock shocks are more looser for comfort for the stock height, once you lower the car more then an inch the shocks get really bouncy and rough, no more comfort. The Bilsteins Sports are alot stiffer and they can handle lowered cars b/c of it's stiffness. They are shorter then stock shocks, not that much but I guess it helps though... http://www.2phast.com/Corvette/bilstein06.jpg

Make sure they are Sports not HD b/c they will bottom out!!!
